Designed For: nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and other interested health care professionals in all settings including acute, ambulatory, home health, hospice, long-term, rehabilitation, and transitional care.
Wound management of acute and chronic wounds provides complex challenges for nurses practicing in today's diverse health care settings. This conference will build on fundamentals of assessment and management and provide participants the opportunity to enhance clinical competencies while examining emerging trends.
- Topics on Day 1:
Exploration of emerging problems, state of the art interventions, vascular surgical approaches, successful system strategies to respond to the current reimbursement climate, and management of the vast number of traumatic wounds from combat injuries.
- Topics on Day 2:
Three sessions on Day 2 will provide didactic content to fulfill eligibility for certification in foot and nail care (See sessions marked "Foot and Nail Care Certification"), as well as sessions on assessment of the neuropathic foot, current issues surrounding MRSA, clinical strategies for wound assessment, lower extremity ulceration, selecting products to put on and take off, and considerations of care when wounds will not heal.
